STUDIO INSIGHTS

One of the most rewarding aspects of interior design is watching a space evolve from an idea on paper into somewhere people genuinely want to spend time. It's the stage where drawings, samples and countless small decisions come together, revealing whether a design truly delivers on the way a space is intended to be used.

We've recently experienced exactly that with our work in Baschurch, near Shrewsbury, where we've spent the past month refining plans and finishes. Working within the contemporary architecture presented an interesting challenge. Modern interiors can sometimes feel visually impressive yet slightly impersonal, so our focus was on introducing warmth, texture and character without competing with the clean architectural lines of the building.

As the installation came together, it was a real pleasure to see the property move beyond being simply well designed and begin to feel like a home. Moments like these are always among the most fulfilling parts of any project.

At the same time, we've recently completed a kitchen for a Shropshire family, which prompted a conversation we often have with clients: what role should a kitchen play within the home today? Increasingly, people aren't looking for purely functional spaces. They want kitchens that support daily routines, bring people together and feel connected to the rest of the home.
